My Blog

Hello there,
Thanks for logging on to our new website. We will be using this blog as a chance to answer any customer questions and to promote new stock and/or fantastic new offers we may have.
As I type this, we have increased the range of beer and cider in store many of which are price marked; meaning we are saving you money against our competitors prices.
Not forgetting the party side, we have a marvellous range of balloons (if they are not in stock we can order them in within 3 days) and we can also decorate your chosen venue. If your having a party, and you want to theme it, ie a children s pirate party we can organise that for you. All you need to do is tell us what you require and we will do the rest. If your unsure about things you might need, just let us know what your budget is and we can work it out for you.
We currently have a wide range of wines and spirits, many of which we try to put on offer. Our wine of the month for April is
Barefoot sauvignon blanc priced at just £6.69 or 2 for £11.
This wine is a great accompaniment with chicken or salad, here is a recipe for spicy chicken casserole, a great dish which compliments this wine.
Serves 4
Ready in 1 hour
2tbsp cornflour
8 chicken thighs, skin on
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp butter
3 chopped garlic cloves
1 red chilli finely chopped (deseeded if you don't want it to spicy)
2 rashers lean bacon, diced
fresh rosemary and sage finely chopped
3 bay leaves
300ml dry white wine
150ml of chicken stock (warm)
Freshly ground black pepper
Mashed potatoes or bread, to serve.
  1. Place the cornflour and chicken in a large plastic freezer bag or bowl and coat the chicken with the cornflour, then season with pepper. Heat the oil and butter in a large saucepan or flameproof casserole dish and cook for 4-5 mins, until browned on both sides. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, sauté the garlic, chilli and bacon for 2 mins. Stir in the rosemary, sage, bay leaves, wine and stock, bring to the boil.
  3. Return the chicken to the pan, skin-side up, and simmer, cover for 45-50 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through. Discard the bay leaves and serve.
  4. Enjoy
Thanks for reading our first ever blog, all comments welcome.

Hiya! I know this is kinda off topic however , I'd figured I'd ask. Would you be interested in exchanging links or maybe guest writing a blog post or vice-versa? My site discusses a lot of the same topics as yours and I think we could greatly benefit from each other. If you are interested feel free to shoot me an e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you! Fantastic blog by the way!
